Poetry - Who am I? Origin of Insecurity

Poem - Origin of Insecurity by Fabiola Mayout

  1. The Mind: "Do you know who I am?"
  2. Insecurity: "No, but I'm scared. You have a dark energy."
  3. The Mind: "I'm somebody. I'm nobody."
  4. The Mind: "I'm someone. I'm no one."
  5. The Mind: "I'm invisible. I'm immaterial."
  6. The Mind: "I'm rational, you're irrational."
  7. The Mind: "I'm your nightmares, your insecurities."
  8. The Mind: "You can't see me, but you can hear me."
  9. The Mind: "And if you don't realize I'm here, I will be the death of you."
  10. The Mind: "I'm the cancer in your thoughts."
  11. The Mind: "I am depression. I am suicide. I am drugs."
  12. The Mind: "I am the voice in your head: Dream taker."
  13. Insecurity: "But, where is Dream maker?"
  14. The Mind: "The neoplasm in your thoughts produced a trophic anesthetic effect. Dream maker may never wake up."
  15. Insecurity: "Who let you in?"
  16. The Mind: "Your desire to be like someone else. Your desire to be somebody."
  17. The Mind: "Your desire to follow the crowd. Your desire to be invisible."
  18. The Mind: "Your desire to be someone else. Your desire to be nobody."
  19. The Mind: "Your desire to forget the fundamental you."
  20. The Mind: "Your inability to filter fake from real, fiction from reality."
  21. The Mind: "Now do you know who I am?"
  22. Insecurity: "Yes, the death of me."
